PCSO still accounting for military surplus program

FLORENCE — It's taken seven months to identify some of the military surplus items Pinal County should have on hand, and there's still plenty more work to do. Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb and Chief Deputy Matt Thomas on Wednesday presented the Pinal County Board of Supervisors with the three-part list of inventory that the county should have on hand from a federal government program that allows local policing agencies to use military surplus items in police activities. Thomas told the supervisors that the list included the items PCSO has identified in its possession, a list of the items that have been returned to the federal government and a list of the department's current inventory that it doesn't plan on keeping. The items that aren't returned to the federal government will be auctioned.
