Contact Your Elected Officials

The Pinal County Democrats strongly encourage you to contact your elected officials. If you think they are doing a good job, be sure to thank them. If you oppose a position one of your elected officials has taken, explain why you disagree and encourage him or her to re-consider the issue.

Mail a letter, pick up the phone, send an e-mail, and encourage your friends to do the same. The more your elected officials hear from you, the better able they will be to represent you!

Know Who Represents You

If you are unsure who represents you, use the Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission district finder to determine your congressional and legislative districts. Enter your address and zip code in the upper right hand corner of the Legislative map to generate your district location.

Contact information for all federal and state legislators is available at the following Web sites:

Letter-Writing Tips

Here are some suggestions for ensuring your letter, phone call or e-mail message has the most impact.

  • Write a rough draft to organize your thoughts.
  • Be brief.
  • Be original.  Original letters receive far more attention than carbon-copies. If possible, provide a personal story and connect that story to the larger issue or debate.
  • Mention that you are a constituent.
